Thom Holmes is a composer and music historian. He studied composition with Paul Epstein in Philadelphia, was the longtime publisher of the magazine Recordings of Experimental Music (197985), and worked with John Cage.

Very good book on the subject. Especially useful as a textbook for a e-music survey. Covers everything from history to technical basics.
